“LIKENESS” Represent

“MAKE MAN” Creative Ability

Imagination

Dominion / Authority

“IN OUR” Self-Aware

Self-actualization: To realize one’s own potential and fulfill it.

Commonality (How the three persons of God are alike to one another)

“IMAGE” Resemble (Shadow) How we are like God

Eternal

Spiritual

Moral Agency

“LIKENESS” Represent:

Authority / Dominion

Functionary: Steward

Rule over Creation

God’s Agents

GOD CREATED MAN; MALE AND FEMALE

Male and Female, He created THEM
God blessed THEM
God instructed THEM
- Be fruitful and multiply
- Fill the earth and subdue it
- Rule over every other living thing

Male and Female:

God’s creativity

Equality / Equally in the image of God

Relational Connection (as within the trinity)

God blessed them

A Given Purpose / Significance

Synergy: When the whole is greater than the sum of the parts

God instructed them (How to fulfill purpose and significance)

Be fruitful and multiply - needs both male and female

Fill the earth and subdue it

Great task / Challenge

Exercise lordship over / manage

Rule / manage every living thing / bring it under control

AND IT WAS SO - AND IT WAS VERY GOOD.

Then sin entered the world…

But God’s plan and the ultimate fulfillment of His grand design is unthwarted.

For God is redeeming and restoring mankind through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
