Text: 2 Thessalonians 1

Paul’s prayer for the Thessalonians

“We pray for you always

that our God will count you

WORTHY OF YOUR CALLING and fulfill every desire for goodness

and the work of faith with power”

2 Thessalonians 1:11

How to Live Worthy of Your Calling

An Increasing Faith (v.3a)

A growing love (v.3b)

Perseverance in persecution (v.4)

Obedience to the gospel (v.8)

Glorifying Christ (v.10a)

Marveling at Christ (v. 10b)

Fulfilling every desire for goodness (v.11b)

Completing the work of faith in power (v.11c)

Why to Live Worthy of Your Calling

Because He promises to give us relief in our affliction (v.7)

Because God will bring retribution upon those disobedient

to the gospel (v.8)

So that the Name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in us

(v.12a)

(so that) we will be glorified in Him (v.12b)

Therefore…

Live in such a way that God would say,

“I’m glad I picked you for my team. You did well!”

And pray that all of us would live this way
