KNOWING AND BEING kNOWN
Text: Psalm 139
Knowing God
So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; (Hosea 6:3)
Footnotes: I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, …so that I may gain Christ, … that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, (Philippians 3:7-8)
“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (John 17:3)
Knowing God is…
Our highest pursuit
Our salvation
Our created purpose
Being Known is…
He knows what you do
He knows what you think
He knows where you go
He knows how and why you do what you do
He knows everything you say (and even what you think about saying)
He knows your form, capabilities and limitations
He knows the number of your days
And yet…
God demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
Footnotes:
We cannot escape His presence: He is always with us
You cannot escape His power: His hand is upon us
You cannot escape His providence: He is always caring for us
Knowing Him and Being Known
FULFILLS OUR CREATED PURPOSE
REVEALS GLORY AND WONDERS
BEYOND OUR COMPREHENSION
BIRTHS A ZEAL FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HOLINESS
PRODUCES HUMILITY AND SINCERE SUBMISSION IN US
Do you know Him
and
are you known?
