Text: Galatians 5:13-26

The two choices:

Freedom from the law to indulge the flesh Licentiousness Living without external restraints Disregard for rules or standards

Narcissism My goal is my happiness Self-satisfaction is the highest value Self-Centered Behaviors Self-indulgence: I want this; I deserve this; I am entitled Sociopathic: unwilling to value anything beyond their own self-interest

Freedom from the law to serve one another Humility Not low self-esteem, but rather esteeming others highly Love “you before me” Serve one Another To act for the benefit of another

Viewing oneself as a part of a greater whole.

Community, Family, Cause, or Church.

sexual immorality Love

impurity and debauchery Joy

Idolatry Peace witchcraft Patience

hatred Kindness

discord, jealousy, fits of rage Goodness

selfish ambition Faithfulness

dissensions, factions Gentleness

envy Self-control

drunkenness

orgies

Everyone serves someone.

You either serve yourself

You serve others
