Fruitful in Exile

Text: Jeremiah 29:1-13

SENT INTO EXILE

God is Sovereign over nations and leaders

By His plans He sent the Israelites into Exile.

When results are not what you want,

Do not presume that God has not heard your prayers.

He still has a plan that he is pursuing

LIVING IN EXILE

Build Houses and live in them

Plant gardens and eat their produce

Marry and establish families

Seek the welfare of your city

Pray for the land where you live

Seek the welfare of the land

REFUSE TO BE DECEIVED

Do not believe the claims that all will be good

Do not believe the claims of soon coming doom

Look to God and understand His plans

There will always be false prophets

God has a plan for our future

His plan is for us to know Him

IN THE MIDST OF A HOSTILE WORLD

Call upon God

Pray to God

Seek Him with all your heart

Trust His plan and providence

Trust His promises

Trust His person

LIVING AS A CHRISTIAN TODAY

Seek to Please God in all you Do

Seek to be loving to all you meet

Pray for the welfare of your city and nation

Pursue peace with everyone

Be a productive member of society

Obey the laws of the land

Share Jesus with the world

GOD HAS PROMISED

That he will be found by those who seek Him

That He plans for a future and a hope for His own

Our future is not of this earth

Our hope is Jesus Christ alone

LAY UP YOUR TREASURES AND HOPE IN HEAVEN

And

LIVE WITH JOY AND LOVE IN THE LAND OF EXILE TODAY

Footnotes: Cultivate a level of emotional detachment from the troubles of this world. We are sojourners, aliens in this world. Do not be so closely tied to the fortunes and failures of this world.

Do not fear, nor fret, nor anxiously worry about things over which you have little influence or responsibility.

Seek God with all your heart, and He promises that “I will be found by you.” Live with Joy and Love in the land of exile today
