The Governance of Love
But I say to you who hear,
love your enemies,
do good to those who hate you,
bless those who curse you,
pray for those who mistreat you. . Luke 6:27-28
How do you love others?
Examine yourself
Discover the good in others
When you can defeat your opponent, don’t
Why do you love others?
Because enmity intensifies the existence of evil
Because enmity distorts the one who detests others
Because love has redemptive power
Ways to address Injustice (the options)
Rise up with violence (NO)
Surrender to it (Not wise, not opposing gives assent)
Nonviolent resistance (OK, if non-violent in word and deed) Non-cooperation with injustice is a moral obligation

Luke 10:27-29 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your
heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with
all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” And He said to him,
“You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.”

justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should
have done without neglecting the others.”
