But I say to you who hear,

love your enemies,

do good to those who hate you,

bless those who curse you,

pray for those who mistreat you.​ . Luke 6:27-28

How do you love others?

1. Examine yourself

2. Discover the good in others

3. When you can defeat your opponent, don’t

Why do you love others?

• Because enmity intensifies the existence of evil

• Because enmity distorts the one who detests others

• Because love has redemptive power

Ways to address Injustice (the options)

• Rise up with violence (NO)

• Surrender to it (Not wise, not opposing gives assent)

• Nonviolent resistance (OK, if non-violent in word and deed) Non-cooperation with injustice is a moral obligation

The Law of Love

Luke 6:27-28 “ But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”

Luke 10:27-29 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your

heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with

all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” And He said to him,

“You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.”

Luke 11:42 “But woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithe of

justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should

have done without neglecting the others.”
