Living in Community

One Family, One Friend, One Group, One Fellowship, One Community

Church is not like Family …

It is Family!

John 1:12-13 – But to all who did receive Him, who believe in His name, He gave the right to become Children of God, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

God Our Father

Galatian 4:4-7 says it: But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts crying Abba Father! So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir

through God.

We are Brothers and Sisters

Romans 8:29: For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might

be the first born among many brothers.

Hebrews 2:11:Both the one who makes people holy and those

who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not

ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.”

What Characterizes Healthy Families?

  1. Healthy Families Serve Each Other Galatians 6:9-10: Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while you still have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those of the household of the faith.

2. Healthy Families Grow

By weddings

By new births

3. Healthy Families Raise Mature Children

Deuteronomy 11:19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you

get up.

 4. Healthy Families Are Grace Filled

Romans 3:23: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. It could have just as easily have said for all families have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Colossians 3:13: Bear with one another and forgive one

another if any of you have a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

5. Healthy Families Do Life Together Hebrews 10:25 Let us consider how we may spur one another on to love and good deeds, not giving up assembling together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching.
