If God is Good, why is there so much evil & suffering?

You asked: If God is Good, why is there so much Evil & Suffering? What purpose is served by permitting evil?

The Goodness of God is demonstrated in the midst of suffering

All creation is a canvas for His Glory (ref: Isaiah 42:8; Isaiah 43:6,7; Isaiah 48:11)

Consider John chapter 9, the man who was blind from birth.

It was to demonstrate His perfections and His glory

If God created a world without the possibility of sin…

He would be glorified for His creative power, but for what else?

Why would a good God create a world that permits sin?

FOR HIS GLORY

To demonstrate ALL His perfections, His…

Love

Mercy

Grace

Justice

Compassion

Forgiveness

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Rom For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience." Romans 8:18-25

If we could figure out God's mind in all things, He wouldn't be so great! But, He is an awesome God.

“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!” Romans 11:33
